These 5 Cooking Hacks Will Make Your Kitchen Life Easier

Apr 27, 2019 | ARTICLE, ARTIKEL, News

Even if you’re a beginner, cooking can be made easier and faster. Just follow these 5 kitchen hacks, and see that there’s nothing to stop you from trying new and innovative recipes from FiberCreme!

1. Soften stale bread

After being left one day, there’s a good chance that your loaf of bread or baguette will go stale and dry. Don’t immediately thrown them, because you can give them new life as long as they haven’t gone past their expiry dates. To soften the texture, place the whole bread or baguette under running water and re-bake it. Now that you have soft bread, you can use it to make anything like Roti John or garlic bread to accompany this Mushroom Soup.

2. Make your own powdered sugar

Not everyone has powdered sugar in their kitchen. You don’t either? But don’t cancel your plan to make cookies like Valentine Sugar Cookies or Putri Salju, because you can make powdered sugar straight from your kitchen. Just add ½ cup of granulated sugar to your blender and pulse-blend until you get roughly ¾ to 1 cup of powdered sugar.

3. Get more lemon juice

Have you ever had trouble squeezing citrus fruits like oranges or lemons that you’ve kept in the fridge for days? Not only will it be difficult, but you also won’t get too much juice from those dried-up lemons. Fix the problem by popping the lemons in the microwave for 20 seconds. See how much juice you can get with much less effort. Have you had enough lemon juice to recreate the Lemon Cookies or Fresh Lemon Chicken Pasta recipes?

4. Ripen bananas instantly

An oven and a little patience is all you need to speed up the ripening process of bananas. Just put those unripe bananas in the low-heat oven for around 40 minutes, and voila! You have the perfect bananas to be turned into this Choco Banana Muffin or Kolak Pisang Ubi.

5. Prevent boiling milk from spilling over

Boiling milk can be a disaster. Leave it unattended for a few seconds, and you may spend an entire hour cleaning your pot and stove because the milk will spill over. To prevent that, you can place a long-handled wooden spoon over the pot. The spoon will pop the bubbles and foam, and keep them from overflowing.

Does this trick work for you? If it does, then you can safely use the milk to make cream soup or pudding, right? Or you can’t because of your lactose intolerance? Don’t worry. You can still make those creamy dishes by replacing the dairy milk with FiberCreme. In addition to being lactose-free, the multi-purpose creamer is also high in fiber, low in fat and free of cholesterol.
