Soft Crust Nastar

Ingredients

  • 200 g butter
  • 4 tablespoons FiberCreme
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 50 g sugar
  • 340 g flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pineapple Jam (Filling)

  • 1 Pineapple, grated
  • 125 g sugar
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Egg wash

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon water

 

Method

Pineapple Jam:

  1. Cook the grated pineapple with vanilla extract, sugar, cloves and cinnamon powder over low heat.
  2. Keep an eye to the mixture and cook until the water evaporates and turns into jam.

Tarts:

  1. Mix sugar and butter until well blended.
  2. Add egg yolks, vanilla extract and FiberCreme, while sifted and stir until blended.
  3. Add flour and cornstarch mixture gradually. Mix until the dough turns into crumbs.
  4. Take a little amount of the dough, make a round shape and fill with pineapple jam to taste.
  5. Prepare the baking tray and brush it with margarine, then put the filled dough on top of it.
  6. Brush the filled dough with egg wash.
  7. Bake the Nastar in an oven at 175 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
  8. Take the Nastar out of the oven and chill.
